In our search for a used 5th wheel I have noticed a number of fifth wheels do not have the four-inch square bumper to store the sewer hose in. On these fifth wheels where do you store the sewage hose?
Some have hose storage like this on side of trailer.
Problem is if you want to used Rhinoflex hose it won't fit!
To cure that problem you need to cut out door assembly and mount fence post cover to it.
Rain gutter maks a good tray for hose.
C.B. - Rover_BillExplorer IIIf you're not a DIY'er there are hose carriers for sale like like this one that can be attached to the trailer.
- +2 on the 5" vinyl fence post storage. (I made two)
- I guess I have no class, I just throw mine in a green garbage bag and put it in the storage compartment!
I have several slinkies, a couple with all the fittings and couplers along with the screw in deal for the CG hookup pipe.
The one in the bumper is only for dump stations where I gotta stick the hose down the pipe.
I like the plastic fence post idea, looks great! Good thinking. Another project for me, thanks. - rhagfoExplorer III

Go to a home center like Lowe's or Home Depot, buy a section of the plastic fence post that is about 5 inches square. Mount it under your 5th wheel and use the plastic end caps to cover each end. I put a hinge on the appropriate end used a plastic gutter cut to length that slides perfectly inside the fence post. This is better than a square bumper!!

This is your best option! - Dick_BExplorerWe store ours in a blue tote container with a lid and put it in a storage compartment. We also have a spare hose in the bumper that gets rusty and yuckey (sp). The tote keeps it much cleaner.
- md_procoupleExplorerWe simply bought 2 sewer hose storage units and mounted one on each side underneath the 5'er. Hubby drilled a couple of holes so water can drain if needed. Good Luck and Happy Camping !!
- ReneeGExplorerHubby made this from parts from the local home improvement store -
- CampinfanExplorer IIII do the same as above. I made a handle out of a dowel rod that I screwed into the vinyl gutter. That way I can pull it out like a tray and I can retrieve one or two lengths of hose. Additional hose is stored in plastic container (used exclusively for sewer related items) in the "basement".
