2013 lifestyle 5th wheel. With full-side slide out. After we purchased the 5th wheel we set up a camp site at a resort in CA.On our first time getting ready to go out on the road with it we discovered we had no propane going to the stove or fridge when we closed the slide. However, when we opened the slide back up, the gas came on. Trying to figure out the problem ourselves, we discovered the gas line was pinched under the slide. Now it has been in the shop for two months. We are getting exasperated! Has anyone experienced this kind of problem?

2 months in the shop to change a gas line is a sure sign that the shop is not taking care of you! At the most I can not imagine spending more than a hour changing out a gas line. Sure it might take 2 hours to dis-assemble the floor and perhaps some time to get under the slide out, but still! 2 moths is un-acceptable. You MUST have a proper gas line. It should not be like the stainless steel gas line on your home water heater, as those are not designed to flex on a daily basis. It should be a rubber sort of hose, made to flex and move with the slide out. It seems like the factory design was not really good. It should have been protected better, and designed to flex open and closed 1,000's of times over 20 - 30 years before failure.Fred.

depending on the condition of the gas line it could be a relatively easy fix. If it's like mine the gas line is routed to the outer side of the slide via a folding support channel that is designed to support and articulate the gas line as the slide is moved in & out. At the elbow of this arm is where the gas line tends to get pinched when the slide is in and the arm is folded up. There's supposed to be a wire spiral wound cover for the gas line in the elbow area to prevent the gas line from being pinched, but if there isn't enough slack available in the line at the elbow it gets pinched. There should be enough length in the gas line to get more slack at the elbow if you need to. If your gas line has been pinched too many times the line may have taken a 'set' where it now always pinch off when the slide is moved in. If that's the case the gas line has to be replaced.

I agree: 2 months to replace a gas line is beyond the pale. Actually, I think I would have started threatening a lawsuit somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks. As others have said, it can't take more than a couple hours work, tops. It ain't rocket science, fer Pete's sake.And it's also not like they MUST wait for the rig manufacturer to custom design a special part and arrange for it to be manufactured in China and then imported. It's a flippin' hunk o' hose already.
