No more BFG for me...UPDATED!

I'm posting here, since this is where I hang out...

I had BFG Long Trail TAs on my truck. 3 of 4 separated at about 25k miles; Discount adjusted them and I put on the more current Rugged Trail TAs. Well, 3 of 4 of =these= also separated over the past month, also about 25k miles, and I've replaced all 4 of them. I'm now running my first-ever set of Coopers; Discover ATP, specifically. So far, I'm happy with them, but no more BFG for me...ever. Taking a 1,000 mile trip, starting tomorrow, towing a light FW for a friend. I'll know even more by Sunday.

    I'm with you.....

    X3

I've ran a lot of Rugged Trails and have always had great luck with them. I have a set on my service truck right now with 85,000 miles on them shooting for 100,000.

  • I had a set of Rugged Trails on my work truck. One separated at 17000 miles. Plenty of tread left but I went ahead and replaced them all with the new All-Terrain KO2. These are doing fine so far but they seem to be wearing out quicker than normal. We'll see.
  • Lyle,

What pressures were you running those TAs at?

    What were the mfg. dates?

When I wear out my current Michelins I am going to give those Cooper Discover a shot.
I used to run Coppers for years on my Broncos back in the 1980s and always had good service...interested to see how they hold up now.
