NO WATER PRESSURE!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

This past Tuesday when the temps fell below 0 here, I left my water dripping and evidentally it wasn't enough and I woke up with a loud hum or buzzing sound coming from behind my drawers at the sink and after my hose thawed as long as the switch is on it keeps humming or buzzing and will get louder and louder the longer it stays on. It does sound like its trying to push water through but it only comes in spurts, and if I turn the switch off no water will come out. I as well stay hooked up to the city water connection being I live in it full time. I'm not sure what's wrong but if someone could help me I would be greatly appreciative. The camper is a fifth wheel Coachmen Cascade. Im not sure the year or model or how to know.
  • If you are hooked up to city water, the pump shouldn't be involved at all. It shouldn't be turned on, and it shouldn't buzz or run at all, ever.

If it has been below freezing and now you have no water, the line is frozen somewhere. Probably the hose outside at the least, maybe lines inside the coach. And you will get no water until they thaw. Beyond that, there is a high likelyhood of damage and unless repaired, leakage and further damage to the structure of the rig.

It is clear you are no expert in these matters. It is also clear that you do NOT need the advice of the forum nearly as much as you need to hire a local repair guy to come out, inspect, and repair whatever the problem is and get you pointed in the direction of not having the problem repeat next time it gets cold.
  • and its like its trying to pump water out when its spurting but its not got enough pressure or something to keep it going.

What is the switch for? The pump? Is it frozen. There are three for four diaphrams involved in the pump and if any are frozen the motor would not turn. Or you could be getting some 60 cycle vibrations from the water heater element. Sounds like you have some pipes frozen Get a hair dryer and start thawing.

theres a switch at the sink that controls the water pump I think. its got to be for that bescause if you flip it off no water comes out at all even in spurts.as for pipes being frozen past 2 days been extremely warm here especially today so I would think they've had time to thaw by now. and I don't know where the pump is so I cant examine it to see. yesterday was like in low 60s and today in low 70s.
  • thanks for replying would the pump still go out even with me running straight off the city connection, and the past 3 days now have been above freezing especially yesterday and today. do you know how I could find where my water pump is and the model. so I can find some prices on another.

  • do you have water in your tank?
your pump could still be frozen
if you ran it out of water it could be air locked
if you ran the pump out of water
you may have burnt out the pump and the buzz sound is the burnt out motor
  • Sounds like the lines may still be frozen and the pump can't push the water. Or, the pump itself may be damaged. Water can really cause damage, so I would suggest turning off any supply until you can get it looked at.
