Not sure this was a good idea?

I saw a guy in the gas station the other day messing with his wheels on his camper... So I asked if he needed help and he said that he was done but thanks anyway..
He proceeded to tell me that one of his wheel studs were stripped about 1/4"-1/2" from the end.. He then went on to tell me that it is no problem because he has 7 of 8 tight.. AND the 8th is holding , it is just real hard to remove due to the threads...:h

Because it's easier to equally space 8 holes than it is seven. You'll notice that GM jumps from 6 lugs to 8 lugs. They NEVER design a vehicle with 7.

  • Had someone mess with the 8 lugs on mt 3/4 to PU. I LOST a tire and wheel at 55mph. (Actually never found it). I took 2 nuts off of the other 3 wheels, mounted my spare using them and drove 40 miles home. Then I had a VERY stiff drink.
  • He has 8 lug nuts, 7 are tight 1 isn't and the wheel will come off because 1 is not tight?:?

I would get it fixed ASAP but wouldn't leave the trailer sitting until then.

Well if he loses that wheel he will still have three others on the ground I reckon...
  • He's right. Not an emergency. I'm sure he will fix it when he gets home.
