old rig

In June 2006 we went to Dixie RV in Hammond, La. and bought our 1st 5th wheel. In 2012 on the way home after a 5 week trip with friends to Montana and many other points we stopped in Tyler, TX for a few days. There we traded it in for our current unit. Wednesday in Bolivar, TX. I noticed the unit in the pictures. Went over and spoke to the owner. He purchased it a year ago and is the 3rd. owner. The fifth wheel in the pictures is the same one we purchased 2006. We visited 26 states, many with friends, and over 40,000 miles and created countless memories. It is truly a small world.

Don't see many Holiday Ramblers but I recognized it from a distance. It was a great rig except for tires. A little banged up but the owner said everything still works except the water heater.

  • Years ago, I traded in my Ford F-150 for a bigger GM truck. About 6 months after that I saw it one day at our local transfer station. I walked over to the owner and said, "that's my old truck". He asked me how I knew, and I showed him the one ding it had, in a very unusual place. I told him how I got it. He complemented me on how well I took care of it and the low mileage it had for its age (6 yrs).

    It was nice seeing it.

My dad, who's 82, bought =his= dad's '78 El Camino and is having it fixed up. That car has never been registered further than 6 miles from the selling dealership and he's the 3rd owner. :-)

Why is an A/C Unit hanging out of the bedroom emergency escape window ?

    :B

Surely you don't think it is for anything other than outside temperatures.:h

Had to do with your statement that everything but water heater still worked........

PLUS Emergency escape is blocked........that too me is a bone-head move in an RV

Not sure blocking the Emergency Exit is bone headed.:B During the PDI on that rig the tech. said :"This is the emergency exit" He then proceeded to show us how it worked and then said "Good Luck trying to use it>"
  • Traded in our Prime Time Lacrosse in October of 2014 in Pennsylvania. The next summer we went camping at the Jersey shore. Taking a walk around the campground one evening we saw our Lacrosse. Recognized it by the reflective tape we put on the tongue to assist in hooking up. New owners confirmed it was ours.
  • Back in 2009, I bought a new 2008 Palomino Thoroughbred fifth wheel. In September 2015, I repurchased the same fiver. Typed in the model number and it came up for sale in Florida. Great shape. Even has same picture I put on the wall in 2009. Thank you, to the only owner in between, for maintaining it so goid.
  • I've run across two of my previous rv's. My first is used by someone who owns a small campground so it stays put. The other was a Cougar fifth that I ridded myself of after many repairs. The next owner did the same thing after a years ownership as well. I saw it at a camp out with the dealer club where we both bo business.
