old rig

In June 2006 we went to Dixie RV in Hammond, La. and bought our 1st 5th wheel. In 2012 on the way home after a 5 week trip with friends to Montana and many other points we stopped in Tyler, TX for a few days. There we traded it in for our current unit. Wednesday in Bolivar, TX. I noticed the unit in the pictures. Went over and spoke to the owner. He purchased it a year ago and is the 3rd. owner. The fifth wheel in the pictures is the same one we purchased 2006. We visited 26 states, many with friends, and over 40,000 miles and created countless memories. It is truly a small world.

Don't see many Holiday Ramblers but I recognized it from a distance. It was a great rig except for tires. A little banged up but the owner said everything still works except the water heater.

  • Came with a single AC and when towing during hot weather it took forever to cool off. This is east of Galveston so it heats up during the day

Because the bedroom was hot? :)

  • Didn't see our old rig, but heard about it--sold a fiver (in northern CA) to a guy from northern NV. Ten years later we got letters from a tow company and a sheriff's office in southern CA telling us to come get our trailer. It had been abandoned in a golf course parking lot.

Good thing we had filled out and submitted the Release of Liability form.
  • Test...check...aye!

Can't say I've ever seen any of my previous tents out and about, other than the one I gave my daughter and SIL...the only time they've used it.
