Older Weekend Warriors?

My buddy is looking for a Toy Hauler on a budget. He found a 1995 32ft fifth wheel Weekend Warrior for a fair price. It looks very very clean in the pictures (hasn't looked at it yet). I know WW had its problems (I had a early 2000s model with the frame recal)but I thought I remember hearing these older ones were built well.

Anyone have experience with reliability with these older WWs?
  • Well I went to look at it with him and unfortunately the pictures were a bit optimistic. Had some serious leak issues in the past. Thanks for all the input!
  • older weekend warriors are the best ones that one probably has the aluminum roof just ck the wall in the back by the ramp door everything else is pretty strong.believe me .i know.i worked for those guys for a long time
  • As in any RV, regardless of make, checking for water damage, frame cracks, and general overall condition when purchasing used, should be the norm. On another note, a fellow I used to work with bought a WW back in that era, and that thing was heck for stout and well built, and is probably still around to this day. WW had alot of innovations in the toyhauler world back then, and they were more custom built. JMO
  • oh, WOW... that is an older model!

I'd say all bets are off as far as getting first-hand knowledge of build quality on a 1995 WW. Your buddy's best bet is to inspect it top to bottom, front to back.
  • Wow, I never thought of a 2005 as an "older" RV. No offense, just poking fun.

Read the sticky at the top of this forum for lots of info on WW issues.
  • Here goes my first post, I've been lurking in the shadows on this forum for a few months now; I figure it's time for me to contribute.

I'm a proud owner of a 2005 WW LE 3505 (purchased Oct 2012). I'm assuming your buddy is either looking at an LE 3305 (33' version of my TH) or possibly a Superlite version. I can speak to the quality of the LE versions as being of solid construction. DEFINITELY check the roof, especially where it meets the front cap as well as the rear seam since that is the low point of the roof, which causes the water to pool there. If there is signs of the OSB (some call it plywood or chipboard)becoming wet and warping underneath the roof material, there was water intrusion at some point which means you need to start poking and prodding the roof as well as interior and exterior walls adjacent to the possible leak point to look for soft spots.

Let me know if you have any specific questions if it does happen to be an LE version. Also, what does your buddy consider a "fair price" (just curious)?
