Opinions please on 29' 2012 Sundance XLT

thank you for any opinions on this model fiver:

2012 Sundance XLT 277RL - found on PPL search thanks to advice from here.

After a very difficult internet search for a fiver under 12K GVWR with no steps between bed and bathroom and must haves including 2 nightstand/shelf and kitchen counterspace. This is one of only 5 models that come close to 28 to 30' max length, weight and must have's.

Thank you all for your recommendations, suggestions, advice and opinions! Started here and will continue our search via the internet because we are not near any large RV dealerships. We plan on finding the perfect one, then search on the east coast and go from there with further advice from this forum!
  • We had similar stuff with our new TT = appreciate the input!

Would love to hear if anyone has this 277XLT 29' - 2012 model, I'm ready to put a deposit on it I love it so much - but we really do have to wait until summer. Boohoo!
  • We have a 2012 Sundance 3100RB. The XLT is the lighter version of the Sundance line. Many features and finishes are the same between the two models. We gross 12,000# when loaded (GVWR is 14,500# ?)but we are also 6-8' longer. But the units are very similar. cabinets, appliances, etc... We are fairly happy with our Sundance. We spent over a hundred days in it this last summer. Camped from Easter Weekend to the beginning of November with a 3 week trip over the 4th of July to the east coast. Other than some minor issues it's been a good unit. Minor issues: got some junk caught in the black valve so it dripped, shut a slide on the bunkhouse door (our fault) just busted some trim. TV antenna vibrated loose needed tighten up. The normal minor stuff.

We done some minor upgrades like a heat-pump in the master bedroom since my partner has temperature sensitive asthma. Maxxair vent covers and other type stuff.

Edit: almost forgot on the closet slide, we did have one cable come loose. The bolt heads sheared off. Put some new screws in it and back in business.
  • We have a 2009 Sundance 3300SK and although its not the model your looking at we've had great success with our Sundance. We got back from a 13,000 mile trip up the east coast, into Canada and back through western New York state and had no problems with the Sundance. Our Sundance you can easily get into both the bedroom and bathroom when the bedroom slide in retracted.
  • We looked at the Sundance models in 2010 as a possible first 5er. While looking we saw some things we didn't like, one model you could not get to the bedroom or bath with the bedroom slide in, none of them had enough headroom in the bedroom to allow either of us to stand up straight (5'10" & 5'11") so we're not giants. Now newer model maybe different, but that's what we saw when looking.

Almostboatless, I don't have the trailer you are looking at but know several people that do own a Sundance and are very happy with it. If you want to come over to the http://www.heartlandowners.org/content.phpHeartland Owners Forum, you will find many others that can answer your questions.

Thank you, sir, joined a bit ago!
