Organizing Basement
I'm curious to know what others have done to organize their basements. I dread the the thought of unloading everything just to get that widget out. I understand the concept of putting the most often...

Tool box, hoses, etc. go one the street side of the basement. With any luck I won't constantly visit this area.
Items that are too big to go in boxes, like folding chairs, all go to the front end.
On my rig that leaves a spot (curb side, door on the left) for smaller stuff that can be boxed. Wallmart and others sell storage boxes that are translucent so you can more or less see what is inside. Since these boxes come in all kinds of sizes, there is a combination of boxes that will fit most every need.
If you get a number boxes the same size, they can be stacked for storage when empty.
As snowbirds, our biggest source of basement clutter tends to be overbuying on canned goods and paper products at Sam's Club. We like the savings from buying in bulk, but there just isn't any room for it all.
