Otpions....Yeti cold-weather package

In the Bighorn...is this something that is needed? Does anyone have it, and has it been beneficial?
  • I got it when I ordered mine. It was not all that expensive. Seems like it would be really tough to retrofit if you decided later that you should have got it, so I added it (call it 'insurance'). All it takes is just one time needing it !

  • I have to wonder about the names of some of these packages. How well did the yetti package work for the yettis? :)
  • Any added insulation helps in warm weather also. We also added dual pane windows. Seems a waste to get Yeti with single panes.
  • If you plan on cold weather camping...Yes! It adds extra insulation in the slides and end caps and adds tank heaters on all tanks and heat tape to the interior incoming water lines.

Have used it and it works quite well, even in temps approaching zero...
  • We had it installed when our Bighorn 3685RL was built. You hit the switch and the tank heaters come on. So far no issues with freeze up due to the weather holding above 32F. We plan to head south from northern Maine every year around Thanksgiving. The temps can be below freezing with windy conditions at that time of year, so we opted for the extra YETTI packege. Good luck.
