Outdoor Kitchens on Toy Haulers

Almost nobody makes them on fifth wheel toy haulers, I think it will be common as luxury toy haulers mature but damn, how long does it take. Here is the list I found, none of these trailers are perfect at the moment. I do not want to sacrifice garage space for the outdoor kitchen, but living room space? Sure! Everyone I talk to loves their outdoor kitchen and uses it 90% of the time, why is this not standard? Some units build them into the slideouts in the living room, or somewhere where you barely notice. My question is, are there any toy haulers I'm missing that have outdoor kitchens that meet my other needs? I know one toy hauler had an "outdoor kitchen on wheels" which was pretty neat, can't find that anymore.

2013 Elevation TF 4012
Cyclone 3712

Here are my needs:

1. 2 bathrooms
2. Outside kitchen
3. Large awnings
4. Nicer interior (no light wood, or flower patterns, looks dated)
5. 12ft+ garage
  • I wonder how many that love the outdoor cooking actually do the cooking and clean-up. Especially the clean-up. :)
  • While those photos are very cool. A cooler, folding table and a decent grill is all the outdoor kitchen I really need and it takes up a lot less space. I prefer to sacrifice the convenience for the space. What those photos don't show is the reduced space in the interior.......Which boils down to having two kitchens. 2 microwaves, 2 stoves, 2 sinks 2 fridges etc.. It's the duplication that ultimately creates wasted space.
  • That's a good point. From those I talked to nobody brought this up, perhaps they didn't camp in the desert. But if you don't want a full outdoor kitchen, the new 4200 Cyclone has a mini fridge underneath the table on that new side deck. It's really hidden so nobody notices it but it's there on the Cyclone Facebook pics if you look closely. I think this is a good thing for those who want outdoor kitchens. I really hope they start adding these to more toy hauler fifth wheels. Will update if I find any others.
  • I like the idea too, problem is it would be covered in a thick layer of dirt, quickly. Any electronics would not survive very long, so i just use my folding tables, bbq, propane burner setup.....Works fine.

    We camp in the desert.
  • I've attached links to outdoor kitchens that I liked, not everyone wants to go inside to grab a cold drink, or heat up the inside of the rig just to cook meals. This is a good way to enjoy the sunrise while cooking breakfast or entertain with the game on the tv around the fire. I've seen them built into the kitchen slide (the lower portion of the slide) so it didn't take much room inside to accomodate...perhaps some storage inside. Or you can install it like Elevation did. Really looks superb to me and allows you to enjoy the outdoors a little more which is what it's about for me.

Mod Edit: Adjusted photo to comply with the 640 pixel guidelines. When posting pictures in the future please use the Yellow Image icon in the tool bar, paste your photos URL link in the appropriate box and type in 640 in the width box (leave height blank). Thanks

The reason toy haulers don't have them is probably because space is at a premium already with regard to what's inside, taking up space against a wall.

I look at toy haulers every RV show I go to, and there doesn't really seem to be a spot to put an outdoor kitchen anywhere, on any of the various rigs I've seen.

That's my theory as well. I like the concept of an outdoor kitchen but I can make better use of the space with my own make shift set up outdoor kitchen.
I simply don't want to dedicate the space for the convenience of a built in outdoor kitchen.
In the end any RV, even a large toy hauler is too small to have 2 dedicated kitchens.

I agree. Love cooking outside but don't know if many. Same goes for outside entertainment.
  • It might be that the people who have them really like them, but those that don't have them, don't really want them. And the number of people who don't want them outnumber the people who do would be my guess.

I know I don't want one, I bought a trailer so I didn't have to cook outside. Ick.
