Even with a gas engine you start with thousands of pounds on the front axle. Not a big deal if you unload it a couple hundred pounds.
If your pin is 4" behind the axle on a 156" wheelbase truck a 2000# pin weight trailer is only unloading the front axle 50 pounds. You certainly wouldn't notice that driving.
If one was worried about it, the easiest solution would probably be to add a front hitch. The installed weight of the hitch would balance out any "unloading effect" of the trailer. Or front weight could be added in the form of a ball mount, pintle hitch, etc.
