Yes, I had a tri-fold hard cover that would flip to the front and lay flat on the box, but it added 3" to the box height. This was fine going straight, but in turns I had to be careful of this hitting the 5th cap if the truck was on an angle to the RV. If I had a backflip style which sits upright behind the window, then this would not have been an issue. Good question on the pinbox as I was looking at buying a Ram with the Rambox and this was a concern as well.
