Okay! I don't know what's wrong with this thing. I found the motor and that is what makes the click sound like a car trying to start. But with that I also found where to crank it. Instead of a crank you use a tire iron to pump it, like a jack. The motor was located in one of the outdoor side compartments which I had to use a screwdriver to open.because the key for that particular one is long gone it seems. But at least the slider is almost in! Just a few more minutes of cranking and I will be in business. Thank you for all the help! Hoping to sell this thing soon so I guess this is just another quirk of the unit.
