Power issue

I had to replace a bad pigtail on my Keystone Challenger. My issue is I have no shore power afterwards. I and several other ppl have tested voltage. Power at pedestal, power at breaker , and even showing power coming from outlets but nothing works. What gives? Any ideas guys before I spend a war pention on an electrician?

  • I Am seeing the proper readings at adapter and none off the 110v power works. But it shows voltage coming from all outlets. I've check plug, breakers, outlets etc. They all show power coming to and from them. What am I missing
  • Put a voltmeter on the 30 amp adapter, are you seeing 120V for hot1 + neutral and hot2 + neutral?

Since you're using a 30 amp adapter, you won't see the 240V reading.
  • If you did have a power surge and only the micro and fridge are not working, then I would say the surge blew out your micro and fridge. Try plugging into a different AC outlet and check them. Check for fuses on the fridge controller board, should be one for AC and one for DC.
  • 50 amp with 30 amp adapter. All the outlets are getting full voltage . Micro, fridge not working at all. I had to replace because had a surge for some reason that burnt the lead on pigtail. I have it docked at my home. I replaced receptacle the fifth wheel connects to as well because it was burnt up. I noticed this when I went in trailer and had no power and knew it should because I had it hooked to shore power. It didn't trip the breaker that I had the shore power connected to though
  • Why did you have to replace the pigtail, and did it work before you changed it?

If the outlets are hot, then you DO have shore power.

You do understand that a lot of stuff operates off of the 12 V battery system.....right ? And there is a disconnect switch to turn the 12 V completely OFF ??
  • Let's stop and re-group.
    1. Is this 30amp(3 wire) or 50amp (4 wire) power?
    2. What outlets are you getting power from and what is the voltage?
    3. Is the clock flashing on the microwave?
    4. Have you checked all breakers in the RV? (turn them off and back on).
    5. Now that that is done What doesn't work(name them)?
