You'd never tell from the exterior of my 5th wheel that I have a wired-in Progressive Industries unit. I don't leave home without it.
As others have said, it's cheap insurance against both loss and major inconvenience. I think I paid $240 for my 30 amp unit and installed it myself. I plan on keeping the trailer 10 years so it will cost me $24/year.
