Prices for Goodyear 614 "G" tires

What are folks seeing for prices on Goodyear's G614 load range "G" tires? Seems like they are the only name brand company that makes that tire in that load range and very pricey here in upstate NY, like over 300 bucks/tire pricey.

My Sailun's are sitting in my shop waiting to find some time to put them on. I have "E" rated tires now so I orders metal stems to hold the pressure. I had the G-614's on my previous 5er but after sound much checking on the Sailun's it was a no brainer...... nothing against the Goodyears but at half the price for a good tire and most made in Malaysa now all the same standards as Goodyear. Don't confuse this tire with the China Bombs.

Did you have to get new rims or can your old ones handle the increased pressure?

  • I just received a quote from 2 different dealers of $275.00/ea. for the Goodyear G614's. I too am contemplating the Sailuns. TireRack.com sells the Sailuns for $151.99 ea plus $20.00 shipping. My problem with getting the Sailuns is that if you have a problem or blowout you can not get a replacement immediately like you can with the Goodyears because 99% of dealers don't sell them.

The Sailun tires are made in China according to the US rep in FL. Kenda is another brand that comes up and at least for the auto application, reviews are quite favorable. Like the Sailun's, they too are made in China or Tawain. Cost wise, the Sailun's and Kenda's are about 150 bucks as opposed to GY's $325. Anyone ever hear/use Kendas? What about warranty for either brand? Not sure about switch rims to 17.5. Just hate like heck to spend 1300 bucks, but at same time want something of quality and assurance.

Saliluns - YES.. go for it as their standards are as good as the best..

    Kendas - ???

  • You might also check into swapping to 17.5 inch tire/wheel package, ending your depending on borderline tires.
  • You might want to look into the Geostar 574 G rated tire, Ebay has them, we have had them for about 2 years and 10K miles, also I feel they are built like the GY 614 in build and weight, very happy so far...
  • Sailun 637 is becoming very popular among the heavy 5th wheel crowd. It is built just like the G614's but just over half the price. I have had them for two years and am very satisfied with them.
  • I just bought GY 614's for our Alpenlite...hit a sale at Camping World of all places and with a GY rebate Coupon paid $314 each. You might consider the Sailun 637 as an option
