Prime Time Sanibel 3501

Has anybody had any problems with the bedroom slide gears and track on a Sanibel? The gears in mine started eating the gear tracks the third time I moved the slide in. What causes this to happen? I had the camper for three weeks and put it in the shop for a warranty repair of this problem. That was seven weeks ago. Right now, the shop is waiting on a part from the manuafacturer, before it can make the repair. Is it really supposed to take weeks to warranty repairs on these RVs? This wouldn't be too much of a proble, except that, this RV is my home . . . my only home.

  • To JamesBr: This 3501 has been with CW (Camping World - yuck) for this warranty repair, since the last week of August. It is new and all of it is covered by a stem to sterm warranty! The slide has been retracted only five times now, and two of those times have been for test/demostration purposes. That's why I previously said, it failed on the third inward move.

To all: I do not know who, but I believe that somebody (manufacturer or CW) has been dragging its feet on the repair of my home. CW(again, YUCK) has had it for about eight weeks for repairs. Though, nothing has been done yet. CW has access to it during the day, while I am at work and I have it at night, as they have an ajacent campground. At least, I am not having to stay in a hotel. But, it is still a big inconvience for me.

Does anybody know what causes these gears and tracks to become misaligned? Is there an option to using the Schwintek slide system in thses Sanibel campers?
  • Primetime uses the LCI Schwintek slide system on the non hydrolic slides in 2014. I have had no issues with the tracks and gears not meshing properly on my 2104 3600. I would contact primetime about that and get it looked at by the dealer.
  • I don't have the brand name of that bedroom slide gear you are talking about, but I'll bet it is the one that has the RR tracks. Sanibel used them on some of their model's bedroom slides and Dutchman has a ton of them on bigger slides on Toy Haulers.

These are failing right and left. My buddy had his fail on his almost new toy hauler and the parts took forever to get from factory.
