propane or electric?

Being on a tight budget, Would anyone know, is it cheaper to operate the rv fridge on propane instead of electric, and heat the water on propane instead of electricity.??
  • I agree ....... must factor in the labor dragging out the propane bottles and refilling!!!

Is that at your house or a campground and where in AZ?

  • Personally I don't care if there's a price difference or not, would use electric even if paying our own electric. Just way more easier to pay for electric than drag out the propane bottles (especially 40 Pounders) and then try and find a place to get them refilled.
  • It depends on how much you are paying for electricity. There are some comparison calculators online.

If the electricity is coming from a portable generator then propane is WAY cheaper.
  • Discussed in thread yesterday......on pg. 2 a link to a calculator was posted.
Go to post and read all about it

Difference in cost won't help a tight budget cause there just isn't that big of difference.
  • Depends, are you staying in a park that provides electricity, or do you have to pay for it yourself? What are you paying for propane? How much is he electricity cost you?
