It happens. My cord got caught on a bed bracket and I ripped it out of the trailer. 3 hours of tracing and mending wires as nothing was color coded. I would put a meter or test light on the brake terminals of your truck socket (schematic on internet) and hit the emergency switch on your controller. If you have juice start looking at the trailer.
