PULLING 20K OR BETTER

I'm hearing that you really need a MDT or HDT to pull a fifth wheel over 20k. The MDT is expensive and a used HDT is huge. Is there anybody out there pulling that weight with a 3500/4500 or 350/450 with no problem? What about breaking?
I'm looking at A DRV, Augusta or a Continental.

    ".....a used HDT is huge."

Do you mean the cost - or the physical size?

A singled HDT will be wider than a standard dually, but depending on the length of the bed (if you add one) -and whether you single short or long - the overall length can be about the same as a dually pickup.....at way less cost than a new pickup.
So - You won't be *breaking* your bank account.
And - Power and *braking* will be outstanding.

In (many) states where the HDT can be registered as a MH, license cost can be less than a new pickup - and only a std DL is needed.

You won't find owners on here, so suggest you visit the Escapees HDT forum - for some Q & A and info to/from the folks who own one.
(Knowledgeable folks who won't twist your arm, LOL!)
