Pullrite or Demco Superslide for a short bed.

First Tow with a FW and the pullrite super glide 2700. Worked flawlessly. Even unhtiching on an acute angle. Just pulled the to pins and lifted the FW. The hitch head popped off. Worth the time and and $ installing. Very little bucking.

It seems that most of the votes here and other places are for the pullrite. What put me over the top was calling pullrite and speaking with a technician there. He took all the time i needed in answering my questions. So I bought the Pullrite Superglide 2700 16K with the clean bed technology mounting system. Thanks for all the input.

I have the Demmco Autoslide. I really like the bar that goes across the jaws. It keeps the trailer locked to the hitch.

I was looking at the same things. We just sold our TT and looking at a 5'er tomorrow. In the end, I decided to get the Andersen Ultimate hitch. I have the factory installed gooseneck in my 2012 f-350, and it just bolts on in about 2 minutes. It is super light and easy for one person to get in and out of the truck. I also really like that I didn't have to know the trailer/pin box that I needed to get the capture plate for, it is universal


My dad had a pull-rite years ago, and it worked great. I originally was going to go that route, but the weight difference is what really sold me. The andersen also makes a solid connection because of no other moving parts for sliding

Here's how I resolved the issue using the my Superglide
to tow someone else's 5th wheel


Made a Slide Stop Adapter so I can tow other 5ers that don't have wedge plate.


Front end is notched to fit against Turn table cam arm assembly.



Adapter fits in between slide rails. then is tightened and jam nutted in position to stop slide from working.




Now I can tow any fifth wheel.


Someone else towing my 5th wheel.


Modified wedge plate for quick install and removal.

Drilled holes inside of the wedge of the wedge plate.
drilled matching holes in pin box and welded nuts inside of pin box.



Made a pin set up on front of pin box and wedge plate.



If my 5er needs to be towed by someone else,pull pin, take out 2- bolts, good to go.

That is true, I had mine tack welded as I issues with some of the screws that held it on shearing off.

My previous fifth wheel and truck I had the Pullrite Super glide and it is a very good hitch. The only frustrating part of it though is I think you need to be within 7 degrees or so when you hitch and unhitch. If more than maximum angle you need to unhitch leaving the head attached which isn't so bad but a pain when hooking back up. If you need a emergency tow of your fifth that may become a problem as well because of the adapter plate.

Now I have a B&W manual slider because I need to slide it in the maneuvering position so I can have a little more clearance when I back it down the hill to our barn.
