The Flagstaff and Rockwood units from FR is a pretty good series of lite units. As I recall, they use rigid foam insulation which may help reduce weight in other ways while keeping the walls stiff. One drawback is less freedom to run power thru the walls, we noticed very few electric outlets and placement was not always optimum. Otherwise, they are decent units with a number of different floorplans. The dry weight is not that unusual, my 34 ft unit with 3 slides is just 9200 lbs. The difference is the low GVWR, mine is over 12K with 16" tires. The limitation on GVWR may be the torsion axles and/or tires, but on the other hand torsion axles do provide a smoother ride for the trailer/contents and as stated, serve as very good frame crossmembers. These units also seem to have lower pin weights and the low GVWR is probably an attempt to target the 1/2 ton tow vehicle market. They can also be ordered with the Sidewinder pin box for short box trucks.
There is no 'perfect' RV, just what is the best compromise for each family, but many prefer a fiver vs. a TT.
