Questions for Those Pulling 43ft TH with DRW Truck

Hello to all. I am thinking of getting the Cyclone King and was a little nervous. My question is, I have a 2012 DRW Chevy Duramax. I know that it will pull the trailer with room to spare. I am currently pulling a 35ft fifth wheel and am comfortable pulling it. My questions are:
1. How well any of the DRW trucks handle with this long trailer?
2. Is there any issues with pulling a 15,000lb plus trailer?
3. Any advise from those who are use to pulling a big trailer.

Thanks for looking and for any advice.
  • You SoCal guys must have some small campgrounds if you're not able to handle that size trailer. Just gotta know how to drive.
  • Ours pull great behind the Dually. Just watch your turns until you get used to the track of the longer trailer.
  • Pulling into/out of gas stations, and finding a campground that can take that long of a trailer could be issues. If you only dry camp in the desert, no problem. Have fun
  • Pull 48 feet (22-23k loaded) no problem.
Trailer before this one was a 35 footer- didn't notice a real big difference between the two other than the weight.

Before you pull the trigger on a new one get them to put high end wheels and tires on the trailer- 17.5" wheels and G or H rated tires! Otherwise you will be buying a set (figure 5k cost) 6-12 months after you take delivery.
  • I have a 2005 Chevy Duramax, pulling a 40' fifth wheel ( 15,000 give or take a few lbs ) with no problems, pulls like a dream and handles good down the road.
