For those that leave them out when not towing if you or someone else breaks the big mirror it's a complete replacement. I cracked the small mirror shortly after getting my Ram. Went to the dealer and got the small mirror. Dealer said I'd have to replace the whole mirror if I'd broke the large mirror. Just saying.
Mirror can get broke were towing or not....in either position.
Truck was parked parallel to road across front of CG site (only way anyone could park tow vehicles). 3' from edge of road to side of truck
MH was pulling into site across from us.......new driver.
Pulled onto grassy area to right of road for wider swing into pull-thru.
Tail swing caught my drivers side mirror....and completely destroyed it.
Cost for new replacement.......$640.
MH drivers Ins. (Progressive) was not so happy and played (tried) games.
Old Biscuit, I would have played games as well, my rig did not have tow mirrors when I bought it, but $240 to Geno's and I got two brand new flip up tow mirrors, heated as well! - OaklevelExplorerCan't see nearly as well with them down. My trailer is 36 feet notice a huge difference with them up.......... so YES I flip them up
- rescue7ExplorerWhen the mirrors are flipped up they are you Ram horns ready to do battle.

Me too!
Me 3. As I stated earlier in this thread that I keep them flipped up. With the dually,it's a good way to gage when I pull into my carport or am driving or parking in tight spots... so if it's "ugly", then so be, if I clear my mirrors, I also clear the trucks rear fenders.. I'm more into practical than looks (: - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Flip mine up when every I tow. Set Mirror memory one for the down position and memory two for the flip up position.
X2 The convex mirror works fine in both positions without re adjusting.
