"Head to town with the dishwasher and washer running? " Hell I won't head into town with the fresh water turned on at the post outside. I DON'T LIKE SURPRISES! I read too many times, people come back to a water mess because a fitting started to leak or something else bursts. That's not to say that he mess can't start while you are in your RV, but at least you might be able to keep it from being catastrophic.
