I've had some good and some bad experiences in contacting Direct TV. What I've found is they don't seem to train their service reps all that well. One rep will give you one answer; another rep, the complete opposite.
In any event, you must not see the frequent polls concerning customer service, where Direct TV (as well as many other satellite and cable TV companies) consistently rank near the bottom. So, guess you get more than your share of "heads".
