Story:
I'm not happy with My Curt Q16 hitch, lots of slop starting and stopping, chucking on un-even roads...althought this might not be the hitches fault.
When Starting and stopping I can see the pin box slide on the hitch head about a 1/2 inch or so. This is a new hitch and a new 5th wheel trailer ...my first.
I have bed rails, no problem with them...So I'm thinking about getting a better hitch to use with the rails and my 12,000 lb 5th wheel trailer.
I have narrowed my choices to the B&W Patriot and the Anderson Ultimate connection rail version with safety chains.
I see many good post on each, but what about choosing between the two?
Spend the money once and get a real good hitch. Buy a air hitch. Hensley makes a good one with a binkley holland head. And air safe hitch makes a good one with the binkley holland head. I have the 25k air safe hitch. I bought my first 5th wheel in 2006 and spent the money on a good hitch the first time. I had enough money to do it right the first time. You will be surprised on how well the 5rh wheel and truck travel down the road. The 5th wheel just floats back their. Like the wife said once, you don't even know it is back their.Yes they cost a lot of money. But you get what you pay for. Nothing moves inside my 5th wheel on a normal travel day. Now if you have to slam on the brakes . That is a different story.
