Well, I watched the "crush" test on the Anderson site. My problem is the down force isn't going to the extremes in real world towing. I know it will gain and lessen with bouncing etc. The real heavy forces IMHO, are going to be forward and back. I'd like to see an impartial forward and back force test ;)
Like "The real heavy forces IMHO, are going to be forward and back" does in wearing out the components of a "fifth wheel" hitch? :E
Not sure what you are trying to say here DirtyOil. :h
It was Cocktail time :B
Cummins12V98: speak for yourself. Not all of us haul a "home on wheels", not all of us require "training wheels" on our trucks either. Your rhetoric of fifth wheel hitches is getting real old, so get over it!
zoso:
As suggested, the back and forth forces from the trailer acting on the fifth wheel hitch causes wear on the different components of that very hitch. How many fiver haulers using "fifth wheel hitches" complain about loose components that annoying "clunk or clunking" or "sloppy feeling"? Plenty of posts here on RV.net and other rv forums, of those complaining or asking how to fix their sloppy fifth wheel hitches.
