As suggested, the back and forth forces from the trailer acting on the fifth wheel hitch causes wear on the different components of that very hitch. How many fiver haulers using "fifth wheel hitches" complain about loose components that annoying "clunk or clunking" or "sloppy feeling"? Plenty of posts here on RV.net and other rv forums, of those complaining or asking how to fix their sloppy fifth wheel hitches.
Oh, OK DirtyOil. I get what you were saying now. You're right. Lots of complaints about sloppy, chucking hitches. That's why myself and others steer those people directly to the B&W hitch! ;)
By the way, you up in Fort Mac? I'm originally from Ontario. We be headin' for Edmonton next summer, hopefully to make a bit of scratch. How's it goin in Alberta now?? All the best Bud!:)
ZOSO... Not in Fort Mac.. wish I was, that would mean I'd be working, one of those unlucky individuals to be laid off due to world oil prices, haven't worked since May. Luckily I was able to put a truck load of money away. As for a "bit of scratch" if your planning to make it in the petroleum industry.. until oil gets back to $70-90/bbl, you might be better off collecting Pilsner beer bottles in Sask. Some where over 20,000 unemployed oilfield workers in Alberta alone, its hard no matter what province or state your in when it comes to the oil industry. And thank you.
