Replacing tail lights/running lights...

Our oldie but very goodie, built 8/91 is having minor issues with one tail light. The bulb receptacle on the drivers side, backup, no longer works...The connection has begun to break/disintegrate..
We want to replace that one as well as the passenger. Would you stay with the incandescent or go LED... The LED's are at least triple the price...
What can I expect for a 91/92 sold in 94? This is one sweet 5er..

The replacement light is only $10 and change. Looking at the inside it does not look like it is replaceable but I will look again.
The replacement consists of the receptacle and lens... So $10 and change seems very reasonable..

If the $10 replacement fits go with it, you can always replace the bulbs with LEDs later if you want.

  • Have you looked at your local auto supply for replacement bulb sockets? This would be an inexpensive fix.
