Yes, YouTube is your friend. I ordered a kit off Amazon that had new strings (heavier) and new parts if needed, including springs. I restrung my bathroom blind, which was 2 vertical strings using the kit and watching a Youtube video.

This year first trip out one of my large 4-string window blinds broke and I got out my kit. My BIL insisted on helping which I was grateful for, but I believe I could have done it myself. But he was a big help just because the blind was so much bigger and more hands helped. They aren't "difficult" to do, but kind of unwieldy.

There's a lot of great information on Youtube. Hubby watched a video on repairing a broken recliner and we were able to fix ours in the RV! We have watched several on restringing blinds.

Just wanted to report back that it's fixed. I had printed out a step by step guide from the Heartland Owner's forum and it really helped. Hubby had it restringed by the time I got home from work, but when we put it up, it was too tight to lift and lower each section, which was strange because he cut the new strings the same length as the old, so we recut strings 3x the original length and that worked! We do have string leftover after cutting the excess to restring some of our single short day/night shades.

I redid mine. I'm surprised you don't have springs.

We did. One in the top and that was it.

With a single action blind, I can understand one spring on a single string (looped). But the double action has 2 strings looped.
