Rockwood Signature 401SFB

Hello to all.

Checking to see if anyone has or had the Forest River Rockwood Signature or Flagstaff Classic fifth wheel. Both the same floor plan. RS 401SFB & FC 401CFB.

Trying to decide if I want to move forward with either one. We had a forest river surveyor travel trailer years ago and were real happy with it. I know the quality is what it is these days, just curious as to the usage in cold, (30* ish) and hot, (110*ish).

Anyhow your true experience please.

  • to add to Grit's reply.  so many places advertise 4 season but then only have single pane windows.  to me if there isn't double pane windows it isn't 4 season, because if you use it in the cold your going to get a ton of condensation and if you use it in the heat, the windows will turn into heaters.  another thing that is important is a heated basment, or at least heated tanks.  no sence having a 4 season living structure if you can have water or use the plumbing...

      Yeppers,

I may be steering away from this one. Not really sure yet. Just some things that I can't get answered from the manufacture. That has me a little concerned, but will keep on wiht the search. Other alterantive is to go back to the floor plan of the middle island and rear couch etc. with opposing slides, upstairs bedroom an bathroom. Had the Grand Design 303 and 337 reflectoin fifht wheels, both did great, checking out Jayco eagle too. sooooo, will keep on keeping on and see what i end up with

  • Honestly bud, it’s a toss up.  Don’t think anyone can pinpoint junk vs awesome in the myriad of “average “ campers.
Insulation wise, just do your homework. 4 season ones are insulated a bit better the rest are tin cans.
