Roof replacement!

We returned from a week long camping trim in state parks and thought I should just check the roof make sure everything is ok. Don't remember having any problems with hanging limbs while traveling. Climbed up and saw a small limb on the end on the trailer and started looking and it cut the roof in about 4 spots down the side. It poured down rain the day before and didn't see any leaks as I always check after big storms. I took it to my dealer and he said you need a new roof. Insurance called yesterday and they approved the roof replacement. After a claim from a blow out about 18 months ago and now this they may decide to cancel me. Enjoy the weekend!
  • My dealer had started on my roof last Friday so I won't be able to try RV Flex Armor but it is a nice option.
  • Wow! Never seen this before. Makes you wonder why manufacturers are not using it. If I ever have roof issues, I'll going getting this done!

I damaged my roof a little over a year ago. I patched it till I could replace it. The problem is to find a place that will replace it right. At the Tampa RV show in Jan I talked to the owners of RV Flex and I love there product. Got back to our 5er and the next day I called the insurance Co. to see if they would still replace my roof. They said they would so now I'm waiting for the RV dealer in NC to get the process in his dealership so I can get mine done. Should be in about a week or so.

If your experience is like mine and I'm sure it will be, you will really love your new Flex Armor roof.

I had a roof membrane failure this past December and I replaced it with RV Flex Armor. I will never have another rubber roof longer than it takes to take it to a RV Flex Armor install location. If I had an insurance check to pay for it, so much the better. No more caulking EVER!

Thanks Ed, I've never really looked into the RV Flex but I
like it. There is a dealer about 90 miles from where I live but that would be worth the trip.
I need to call my dealer and if he hasn't started the roof I may take it to them. It's actually less then the cost of a new roof. He said it runs about $175 a linear foot.
    Thanks for the post

I had to travel a bit over 200 miles, but it was worth it too. One other benefit you will notice is how much quieter your rig will be when raining with the new RV Flex Armor. A couple of months ago I was hosting in a park when a big thunderstorm blew through. A bunch of small tree limbs/twigs blew off trees all over the park. One RV in the park had a small stick poke a hole in his rubber roof. All that happened to me was the hard rain washed off some dust.

Let me know how it goes. You will also be happy with the time it takes the RV Flex Armor installer to do the work. A couple of days vs a week or more than was quoted by my selling dealer.

  • BT,DT. Insurance covered mine plus a new awning for a tree leaning into a curve I misjudged. Sadly, it was my most favorite camp ground. Have not been back.
