Excellent advice, OP! The reason, by the way, you see folks using harnesses and tie-off points at the manufacturers is it is required by OSHA. In fact, falls from heights is so dangerous OSHA says employers must protect any drop of 4 feet or more.
I try to stay off the roof and do the cleaning from a ladder. When I need to go on the roof, I keep my center of gravity low, preferably by crawling. I'm not a whimp, but I want to enjoy rv'ing for a long time!
