There are charts available where generators are sold to size your generator to the total existing wattage you need to operate plus give you the additional temp startup wattage to get your appliances running
Very important that these charts are consulted
Is your well pump a submersible or above ground pump?
Normally, above ground pump motors less than 2 hp can be wired for either 115/230 volt operation
Submersible pump motors are normally 230 v only
