Rough start to the season!

Like the man said, we've all done something pretty stupid at one time or another.



Mine was sinking our Class C up to the axle. I was jockying our MH into the drive way. I had the boat in the drive way so it made it harder than usual. I backed the RV into the empty lot across the street from the house. However, I forgot that we had just had a LOT of rain and the ground was soft. Well, after I couldn't pull forward, I backed up a bit to get a better run. Not so much.

I bought some bags of gravel, poured some behind the RV wheels and used our Expedition to pull the RV (hitch to hitch with 20 ft 20k strap) onto the gravel. I dumped the rest of the gravel in the tracks and then made a run at it. I got it out, but had the RV almost sideways doing it and threw up a lot of mud. All this at around 10pm.

Lesson learned, pay attention.

Ouch! I checked mine out good today and have no obvious damage. The bottoms of the axles were muddy though, that sucker was buried!

Our new TT is about 5 ft longer than our old one and I turned it too short coming in our drive and it slid over on the wet grass and took out the steps. Haven't even slept in it yet!. New steps are going on Monday AM. $250 lesson but still cheaper than Camping World @ $460 a set and no labor.

............It's..........Lemmonade Time boys ! I'd just buy some sackcrete , a few sticks of 3/8's rebar , and "Pack yer ditches" with cement . Might have'ta do a grubbing hoe work to get a uniform depth and straighten'em out but atleast they won't require any forms .

Well, it appears that I'm not the only one that has "stuff" happen! I feel a little better! Another problem once we got set up in the CG...the knob on one of the water valves fell off in my hand when I tried to open it! I was still able to get it turned by using a screwdriver but now there is something else to fix! I guess I could let the warranty cover it but its almost a bigger pain to have the dealer do it.

Glad it worked out...it just means you get to do another project at home! I keep my boat in a shed on the low (wet) part of my property. I have to time pulling it out in the spring and putting it back in the fall around the rain we have had. I keep a few pieces of marine plywood around to throw over wet spots if need be.
