Rubber Roof

Purchased a 31 ft. Fleetwood Wilderness to live in. I also bought a RV slot with a Canopy. I have been doing preventive maintenance on my rig so I scrubbed the roof. It cleaned up good. I presume it is a original rubber roof. Seems to be in good shape. I wonder if there is anything I need to do to the roof now?
  • How vigorously did you "scrub" the roof? :) It really doesn't need to look clean and white. I use one of the rubber roof treatments on mine after cleaning. So far so good.
  • Just keep washed when needed and inspect. If you can keep it covered in storage that would be great. If you find a small tear don't seal it with caulk call your insurance company. I found a small tear and was going to caulk over it but my said to call the insualrance and open a claim. They replaced the roof. If you caulk it and it leaks and causes damage insurance won't cover you.
  • Cover roof seams and edges with Eternabond. Caulk with Dicor.
    Inspect and recaulk as needed.
  • There are roof protectants sold at RV parts stores. Really not much use. Personally wash throrouhly and inspect and reseal seams as needed. Some people use formula303 on their roof.
