RV Armor and Others

Anyone with real world experience with the spray on alternatives to the rubber roof (aka the pond liner) care to share their experience?

Any idea what the cost was? Why did they do this mod?

..........My RV Armor estimate(2 months old) was for $130 a foot ! I've read they MAY , do it for $ 120 a foot . RV Flex Armor will run ~$180 a foot . , jf

Is that square foot or running foot? That would be expensive by square foot.

  • RV Armor IS NOT sprayed on. It is rolled on with paint rollers. RV Flex Armor (rvroof.com) IS sprayed on. Here is a picture of my roof just prior to the spraying. The previous picture I posted was right after the spraying was done.

  • I guess my first question is why they go over the top of the pond liner instead of spraying the Rhino or RV Armor directly onto the wood. It seems that doing the latter would result in a practically indestructible roof.

Not sure about the cost - their insurance paid for it. They had roof damage to the EPDM membrane, and the insurance company paid for a new roof. Instead of replacing the EPDM membrane, they went with the RV Armor.

  • My 5 1/2 year old rubber roof membrane started leaking through the membrane in late 2015. I had the roof sprayed with RV Flex Armor in January 2016 and absolutely love it. In addition to no more caulk to worry about this roof is so much quieter than the "pond liner". I always worried about the rubber roof and I will never have another one longer than it takes to have it sprayed with RV Flex Armor. Sprayed not rolled - different process different company.

  • Just had my 2004 34' Hitchhiker fifth wheel done this fall. Totally a preventative measure.
Done in Ogden Utah. sure looks good. only time will tell how good it is.
Good by caulk. Strip to wood and poly-urea spray.
Have pictures but don't know how to link
