Is rethreading broken pleated window shades as easy as it sounds ?

I took a piece of the string to a fabric shop and bought 150 ft of the same size. Over the past 9 years I have restrung all 10 shades in our fiver at least once. Not a big problem, once you figure it out and follow the instructions.as others have said.
