Rving coming to an end

Been rving since 2003. Guess we will have to give it up. DW has Ovarian cancer. Guess we will sell the 5th and hopefully get loan paid off. We may get a small bumper pull later on. Really hate to admit getting older and quitting what we loved doing together.
  • Ken, I hope , and pray for the best for you, and your wife. If she's like mine, they are no happier than when rolling down the highway with the rv.
  • Sorry for your troubles and pray she gets through this.
We too are at an end to camping, traveling. Bought a new Aliner last year, got to use it one weekend, then Covid shuts stuff down and now wife's dementia taking its toll. Staying close to home but we've had 18 years of fun traveling and camping this great land.
Time to make room for the younger generations I guess.

  • Sorry to hear about this.

Obviously, taking care of her is first priority but try to look for ways to keep the dream going...within her limitations.

Father-in-law retired, bought a new truck and big 5th wheel and 2 months later was diagnosed with ALS. This got us thinking...spent a year getting our finances in order, sold the house and moved onto the boat. Been traveling one way or another for the last 13 years.

    There's no guarantees of tomorrow.
  • Sorry to hear about Diana's illness. Have always appreciated your posts on this forum. Will pray for you both.
  • May the great memories in the RV strengthen DW for a successful recovery.
  • So sorry to hear this! It's been such tough year in so many ways, but you've reminded me I need to appreciate that we can still be out here at least for awhile longer. My best to your DW and to you as you navigate these rough waters.
  • Hate to hear that. Best of luck to both of you. Our RVing is slowly coming to an end also. Life has a tendency to unexpectedly get in the way. But we have lots of memories to look back on as I am sure you and your wife do.
  • I am sorry to hear of your wife's illness. We are all getting older...unfortunately. You may very well enjoy small TTs...I do.
