Sailun S-637

Are these Sailun tires one of the ones that are inflated to 110 PSI ?

Asking because that could mean new wheels would be needed if switching.

When a Company has treated me as well as some I know and go beyond what they should have I certainly would replay the favor and purchase their product again. Especially if it performed well.

Ron, I agree and when in Viet Nam, the Chinese manufactured the AK47 that was used against us in that war...so I have no love for "China anything" to a point...BUT, though I still have issues, the war ended 40 years ago this summer....

I know what I know about quality, having been in Manufacturing for a little over 40 years now....and I know what it takes to make a quality product to where you stay in business and can compete "world wide"...Sailun is one company that meets ALL the certifications that "MY PLANT" here in the USA has to meet....they've went out of their way to go 'above and beyond" to manufacture a quality tire...I put a lot of faith in GY also, they'll back issues 100% one may have with G614 tires...The jury is out on if Sailun will, but so far, no failures to find out IF they'll do what GY does.....

So I have no more love for China than you do, (and again, having served in Viet Nam, MAYBE MORE)...but I see one good tire and it's competitively priced and I believe with this tire, it's more of a great deal as opposed to , "you get what you pay for"..

Guess we'll see, because more and more are purchasing the Sailun S637 and we're getting steady reports on these tires....time will tell...

Trailer mfgrs used STs that met the tire specs for their product when it left the factory. The OEM STs usually were almost instantly over their load ratings when owners put their treasure in the trailers.

Also, most US mfgr's gave up on production of ST tires, as it is a "niche market" = low demand.
Mostly Chinese branded tires filled the gap - and carried the same (req'd) specs for STs.
AND - the same results (tire failures of "China Bombs") for the trlr owners..:(

Michelin has mfg facilities in China - with the same quality and standards as their tires mfg in other countries.

OP - do your research on *any* brand you plan to purchase.
It's *always* easier to find negative experiences, than positive.

The "bad vibes" was from Marathons made in China... The GY G614 has had a pretty good record for the last 7 years or so...It used to be the "only game in town" when it came to purchasing a quality tire, (though they had their issues with them in the US)...Now there is competition with the GY G614..and the ONLY competition I see is the Sailun tire at this time..

As of now, I would only purchase tires from a manufacturing plant in China if it had met ISO TS 16949 standards.....I KNOW what goes into the quality of that tire, I KNOW about their quality and manufacturing processes and how stringent they have to be along with proof in record keeping...If a MIchelin factory in China has met the same quality and manufacturing standards, then I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of them, BUT the "no-name" ST tires that are cheaply manufactured and sent state side with NO type of Quality and manufacturing processes where I'll just "guess" they make a Quality product....no, I won't buy one unless I see credentials to where they are actually trying and achieving manufacturing and quality processes that are good enough to meet the above certifications...Most don't even try to get the TS16949 certification...it would cost too much to make a quality product with a good reputation...

So, Sailun tires , yes...a Michelin plant with TS16949 certification, yes....if not.,,then, no...This certification is plant to plant...Just because a Michelin Plant in one country is TS 16949 certified, doesn't mean one in another country can and will meet the same standards, they should..and they're capable, but it would depend on how they're pushed to do it and if they "keep the standard"..


I saw a Fusion TH at Camping World this past week, 3 axle 5er and it had Sailun S637's all the way around.....I thought that was pretty good compared to another one with 2 axles and tires I never heard of, (probably "name was changed to protect the guilty) type of thing you get with most China made ST tires...and yeah, I still believe that...it is what it is...

I have always bought the very best of everything I could afford and it has served me well. Example I just removed my Nexen tires from my new 15 RAM at 250 miles and installed Michelin MS2's. Sure Nexen's would have worked but I know from experience the MS2's will be better.

Not with this China made tire, It's the ONLY Chinese company that I'm aware of has met TS16949 certification....This is an audit that MY company has every year, (same with Sailun), that covers manufacturing and Quality processes, as well as training records for all, it's a very thorough, intense audit that if you DON'T pass it, your company will be hard presses to compete in a world wide market if customers look at QUALITY built into a product.

These tires cost quite a bit less than the GY G614's, (which I have on my 5er), but as long as the tires keep their TS16949 certification, ( I KNOW what it takes to earn it), and reports are still good on them. Then I will purchase these tires to put on my 5er next time they're due for a tire change...

This is one time that cheaper price means...GREAT DEAL....
