Saliun S637
Okay... I rolled the dice! Put a set of Saliun S637 today. How are they holding up for those who have put them on?

You've never had a blowout with damage, but you'll swear that GY will cover it if you do. As long as it isn't road hazard, and you can prove to them that it wasn't road hazard. Riiiiight, and I'll respect you in the morning. :)
I think I'll try the Sailun and see how it goes.
He was very vocal with several consecutive posts in this thread about how paying less for a set of good quality foreign made tires is a mistake and the OP won't be reimbursed for trailer damages. Now he's resorted to calling people names "tight wad" who respectfully disagree. There is a group of "tire" guys on this forum that are so incredibly opinionated that anybody who dares diagree will ultimately be called names and ridiculed. Whatever. To each their own.
I think the original poster made a good decision with tires.

"Thanks, so in reality you paid about 2/3 of the GY G tires. I will stick with the GY's. Never even a flat but I do know they back up their product and will pay for damages and tire replacement. So that means no insurance premium increase."
So you are paying for something you never use.
I paid 207 ea for my Sailuns that included mounting, balance and metal valve stems
That is correct, just like I have a 1 million dollar umbrella and 500K coverage with Farmers that I don't plan on using.
I do my best to not buy Chinese.
On the topic of insurance. My RV insurance policy will cover damages to my coach caused by a tire failure. Under comprehensive as I recall.
So its guaranteed that GY will step up to the plate and pay to repair RV damages caused by a tire failure? Could you perhaps post a link showing where GY says they'll cover consequential damages caused by one of their tires failing on an RV? I couldn't find that on their warranty statement but I'm probably missing it. thanks
I have nothing pin writing but I know several people and have read of many more that GY has paid for damages. My Dad for one, he said they did not argue in the least.
Above you mentioned that we should pay more money for GY tires because they will pay for damages. But they (Goodyear) do not guarantee it, and it is not in writing. That's not quite the "insurance policy" that you made it sound like it was. I agree it is impressive that GY has stepped up and helped some folks out, but let's be honest..... it's not a guarantee that they will help everybody under all conditions. I personally feel that it would be wiser to buy tires that are likely just as good (if not better) for less money. Then keep the savings in your bank account. I'll use the savings to pay my insurance deductible if I ever have to repair the RV due to a blow out, and will still have extra money left over to spend on beer and diesel. I honestly have had better luck with good quality Chinese and Korean made tires anyhow. Not all Chinese made tires are the same you know. My Geostar 574s have been very impressive so far. And Sailun's are getting good reports.
