When we decided that we wanted to purchase a camper to start camping (we had lived in a fifth wheel while we built our house but sold it after), not knowing if we would enjoy the camping experience or not, we opted to purchase a nice Used TT first that we had enough cash to pay for. Seems RVs depreciate fast the first few years and we didn't want to end up stuck with a payment that we couldn't get out of easily if we didn't enjoy hauling it around going camping. After a year of many weekend trips and a vacation, we decided we loved the camping experience but wanted something more roomy so we traded up (as I say) and purchased our 5th wheel. We love it! For us, doing things this way was the best approach. Our TT was a Keystone Springdale, 28' and slept 7 (short Queen in BR, sofa sleeper slept 2, table slept 1 and a set of bunks). We pulled it with a 2011 Chev Duramax 2500.
