I agree with Roland.
I started with an 04 RAM 2500 Quad-Cab, short bed. Then due to a heavier trailer (and the fact that I could sell the Dodge to my son's landscape business) I went to an 06 Chevy 3500 Crew-Cab, long bed. Both diesels.
In addition to carrying capacity, not having to worry about rear windows, and space for "stuff" in the bed; the improvement in the ride due to the longer wheelbase is, by itself, worth the extra aggravation of the LONG truck.
You need a football field to pull a U-Turn and two parking spaces if they are short, but I'll never go back to a short bed.
