Short Beds w/out Sliding Hitch
Just curious how many people don't have a sliding hitch with their shortbeds? I never used it on my old truck, and I'm trying to decide to buy another (spending more) for my HD that's on order or jus...

I have a set of chains and hardware to hold my gate open approximately 6" while the hitch is slid back. My Ram looked like it was going to clear.... someday maybe I'll replace the damaged tailgate :). I don't know that I could turn with the gate all the way open without it hitting the 5th wheel.
