How long does the slide mechanism on a double slide and the motor generally last on most 5th wheels

The slide mechanisms are usually very dependable. My older 5er is 12 years old, and I've never had an issue with it. I'm not sure what type of maintenance is necessary with a slide. I don't believe that you should lubricate any of the parts, since that tends to just attract dirt which can be detrimental. I do use powder on the inner and outer seals to be sure that they move freely past the slide rooms when they open and close. The main thing to watch is to ensure there are no objects which could jam against the slide when it opens or closes.
