slide out 120v harness issues

new guy here. Rear tire blowout on passenger side damaged wiring harness of slide some on my Open Range 2016 light, island kitchen model. I'm a diy guy, so before I start, thought I might ask if anyone knows best way to access where the wires (really just the 120v) connect when they feed into the frame above the tire? The problem is the microwave, refer, and that slide outlets don't have 120v power. Should I cut open the undercarrige protective cover or can I access the wires inside the trailer? Any help or comments appreciated.

Thanks bid time. Being impatient I went ahead and pulled off a plastic cover that the slide wires on the harness came from. two screws and lot of caulk. Inside was two quick disconnects that were NOT connected and a solidly connected blue/white wire. I checked power and both feeds from the trailer had 120v. Stupidly I plugged them together, heard a clicking sound. Went in trailer, no light on microwave. Checked breaker box GFCI was tripped, I reset and tested it. toast. Realized at that moment I should have plugged the two power feeds to the two lines going out to the slide. Did that and everything works, I think. Micro does, hope fridge gets cool. have to buy a gfci is all. Whooo hooo!

  • More than likely, the 120v wires are run inside the trailer; but there are no guarantees. Secondly, even if they are inside the trailer that doesn’t mean they will be accessible. They could be tucked away in spots you can’t even see, let alone access. You are probably better off just abandoning the existing wire and run new wire wherever you can.
