slide rubber blades

In the forum a while back, it talked about keeping the rubber blades behind the slides soft and dry. It said to rub them with baby powder on a cloth and that will do it for you. My question, is this silly ? Or is this for real?

  • nothing silly about routine maintenance. Its things like seal conditioner, electrical contact spray on your 7 way pin etc etc that take little time or cost that will pay off years down the road.

  • I use the thetford seal lubricant. Keeps my seals moist and pliable....

  • No not silly at all. It will help the rubber glide across the side of the slide more easily.

The ones on the inside are protected from the sun, so they will not dry out as quickly.

I put 303 protectant on the outside ones, and use silicone spray on a rag to keep them soft, when needed.
